emerged in a rapidly expanding growth market for a Director of Emergency
Services at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Illinois.Furst Group/MPI Sherman

reputation as a major trauma (Level II) and Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospital.
In addition, Sherman provides cancer care services, orthopedic care, a
diabetes center, and a birthing center with a neonatal intensive care nursery.
Reporting to the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Director
of Emergency Services will oversee emergency services, urgent care, EMS
and trauma services at the hospital.
The Director of Emergency Services will be responsible for all clinical
and management components of the emergency department, which sees approximately
42,000 patients annually and is supported by a professional and clerical
staff of more than 100, including certified trauma nurses, clinical nurse
specialists and board certified ER physicians. The Department is also certified
as a pediatric-approved ED and has provided paramedic training to area
agencies for the past 25 years. The Director will work in coordination
with the Medical Director of the Emergency Department regarding matters
related to services provided by physicians. The individual chosen for this
position will be a graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing
and have a current RN license. A master’s degree in nursing or a related
discipline is preferred. In addition, a minimum of five years of progressive
nurse management experience with at least three years in an ED management
role is required. The individual must demonstrate evidence of clinical
expertise in the practice of emergency nursing with knowledge of emergency
care systems quality management and a track record of successful patient
