Cardiology This position will provide clinical expertise, discharge
planning and care to cardiac patients and their families on an ongoing
basis. He or she will provide input into the development of care practice
algorithms and protocols. Coordinates, directs, and participates in the
care of the cardiac and/or telemetry monitored patient, acting as resource,
and clinical expert to staff, throughout the care continuum. Collaborates
with appropriate physicians, and acts as liaison to health team members
to assure maintenance of patient care standards, core measures and discharge
related processes that promote continuity of care. Participates in educating
patients and families, participates in education programs for nursing staff.
Participates in forums that provide oversight and direction related to
facilitating a quality and timely discharge.Minimum 3 years clinical experience
in cardiac care, preferably in Critical Care or Telemetry/Cardiac specialty
services. Prior experience as an NP in an acute care setting. Individual
must possess the ability to be self directed and function autonomously.
Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Must possess the ablity to work collaboratively in a self-directed work
team environment. Must possess the ability to balance and handle multiple
responsibilities concurrently. Must demonstrate leadership skills. Must
be able to work flexible hours. Must be a graduate of an accredited school
