Asher Community Health Center offers the opportunity to be largely your
own person in a low-stress rural setting seeing about 15-20 patients per
day. Fossil, Oregon is in the heart of the John Day River Valley, yet we
are only 3 hours drive from Portland. We serve a community of 1,550 people--a
mix of professional, ranching, and elderly. We are the only provider, a
Federally Qualified Health Center, in Wheeler County--area 1,700 square
miles.
This position will work for you if you like a scenic, rural, friendly
setting, and you can function largely independently. Until we hire a second
provider to tend an upcoming satellite clinic and two school-based health
centers you will be it.
Our Chief Medical Officer is here only once a week for a few hours,
although he is available by phone for consultation 24/7. Pay scale: $58,000-68,000
plus benefits. We will consider paying first year's rent and relocation.
