Neonatal
Nurse Practitioner
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner delivers specialty care with a high
degree of expertise in perinatal and neonatal health by formulating a plan
based
assessment, examination, and selected diagnostic procedures within
their scope of practice. The NNP also provides leadership for the healthcare
team by collaborating with physicians, nurses, case manager, and multi-disciplinary
team members to ensure high quality, comprehensive care is delivered. The
NNP has a collaborative practice agreement with the Neonatologist and is
accountable to the Manager of the NICU. Will look at new grad.
NNPs travel on all transports to and from facility, attend all high-risk
deliveries, round with Neonatologists, provide clinical support and perform
procedures such as PCVC, PICC lines, intubation, chest tubes, UAC/UVC,
etc.
Requirements: Must be RN licensed to practice in the State of Missouri.
Graduate or an approved Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program for
Neonatal Nurses. Credentialed to practice as an Advanced Practice Neonatal
Nurse in the State of Missouri. Requires a minimum of two years experience
in neonatal nursing. Must have strong organizational and interpersonal
skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Salary Based on Experience and will range from $59,000 - $85,000 Position
is salaried with the option to work 12-hour or 24-hour rotating shifts
to total 80 hours per two weeks.Uniforms are provided by facility. * This
is a great opportunity for a recent grad.
Medical malpractice is provided by facility as well as Continuing education
fees for conferences. NNP will be a hospital employee and therefore will
be eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance. This facility is
growing their service to the community and has recently expanded their
Level III NICU to a 20-bed unit. In addition, they now have a perinatologist
on staff. The majority of their patients are transfers from outlying facilities.
Minor surgeries are performed at this facility; however infants requiring

patients each day, and about 10-12 follow-up visits. New patients are scheduled
30 minutes and follow-ups are scheduled 15 minutes. Usually the NP is done
with seeing patients by 3:00-3:30pm in order to finish paper work, call
backs, forms, etc. Some days are light with ten patients, some days are
heavy with 20. Fridays are usually very light, trying to get done with
patient visits by noon so that all paperwork is completed weekly. The office
is transitioning to an EMR system. The typical patients are cervical and
lumbar spine patients, and there are also cancer patients, neuropathies,
and myofascial pain patients. The NP would typically do a work up on new
patients, gather all information and order any needed tests, decide what
the appropriate therapy would be. Follow-up visits may be med checks, post-procedural
visits, urgent visits. The NP will only do evaluation and management; no
procedures, although they may assist with procedures. They are also responsible
for calling in prescriptions, disability forms, call-backs and some scheduling.
The typical patient in this office may have more forms, etc. to be completed
